The Milwaukee Junior Fire Institute owes so much of its success to the tireless dedication of our staff. Today, we are highlighting Lieutenant Michael Rice, a Milwaukee firefighter for 8 years, currently stationed as a relief lieutenant out of the 1st Battalion. Heβs also a proud member of the Heavy Urban Rescue Team with specialties in high-angle and rope rescue drills.
Lt. Rice brings a positive attitude and enthusiasm to our mission, stating, βI believe I will help the JFI continue to be a success by having dedication to my craft, making me a quality instructor. I also believe in maintaining discipline to set up the groundwork for future careers in the fire service.β

The Milwaukee Junior Fire Institute owes so much of its success to the tireless dedication of our staff. Today, we are highlighting Lieutenant Michael Rice, a Milwaukee firefighter for 8 years, currently stationed as a relief lieutenant out of the 1st Battalion. Before joining the Milwaukee Fire Department, he spent 5 years serving the Menomonee Falls Fire Department. Rice also has an associate degree in Fire Science from MATC.
Lt. Rice brings a positive attitude and enthusiasm to our mission, stating, βI believe I will help the JFI continue to be a success by having dedication to my craft, making me a quality instructor. I also believe in maintaining discipline to set up the groundwork for future careers in the fire service.β
